How important is it to find the right cosmetic tattoo practitioner?

We highly recommend that you do your research thoroughly to ascertain the most appropriate practitioner for you.

What is Cosmetic Tattooing or semi Permanent Makeup?

Cosmetic Tattooing, also called 'Micropigmentation', is a popular well-tolerated cosmetic treatment involving the controlled insertion of safe colour pigments into the dermis layer of the skin, instantly improving appearance, facial definition and in most instances, a long lasting effect. Basically this is a cosmetic treatment that defines your eyes, brows, lips and cheeks with a soft, natural appearance that looks, and stays looking, like perfectly applied make-up or the most subtle of enhancements. All cosmetic tattooing will 'fade', or metabolise, to some degree over time which is due to a number of individual factors. Note; it is not legal in Australia to advertise these procedures as 'permanent'.

Cosmetic Tattooing at Janesse's advanced level is all about Experience, Skill, Trust, Passion, Compassion, Science and Art! It is not just an extension of beauty therapy.

What is Medical Tattooing?

How is cosmetic tattooing done?

With a small purpose-made cosmetic tattoo hand-held implanter. An advanced practitioner will utilise more than one implanting machine and variable needles appropriate to the clients individual needs. The depth of the pigment deposited is carefully and expertly regulated, making the procedure safe and controlled.

Is cosmetic tattooing right for me?

Everyone, from the young to the elderly, who desire a soft, natural or prominent enhancement to their appearance can benefit from skillfully applied cosmetic tattooing. Janesse has many male clients also.

Cosmetic tattooing is especially beneficial for people who:

  • Simply want to enhance their current features

  • Are unable to apply make-up

  • Have poor eyesight

  • Are busy and don't have time to spend on their make-up

  • Have unsteady hands

  • Suffer from allergies

  • Are on-stage and in the entertainment/modelling industry

  • Play sport and don't want to worry about 'sweating off' or re-applying make-up

  • Have thinning or no eyebrows

  • Are Alopecia sufferers

  • Just had a facelift or breast operation

  • Need to improve scar appearance

Is there discomfort involved?

The sensation can vary from person-to-person. A high quality topical anaesthetic is applied for the eye area procedures or a dental block is generally administered for lip tattooing to significantly reduce discomfort.

Do I need to take time off work, and are there side effects to cosmetic tattooing?

If there is any swelling this may last from two to seventy two hours. There may be some tenderness for a few days. The colour implanted will be darker than you would expect for the first 5-10 days. Most people do not need to take time off from their employment for eyebrow or eyeliner procedures - however, it may be advisable to take the day off if having your lips done.

Do I have a choice of colour or intensity?

The range of colours available is almost endless and can be custom tailored to suit every individual's needs. Results can be as understated or as dramatic as you prefer, creating a long lasting look to enhance your natural beauty. Janesse is a fully qualified colour specialist.

How permanent is cosmetic tattooing?

Even though this is a semi-permanent process, colour can be modified or changed. It has been known to last for many years but generally does 'fade', or metabolise over time and may require maintenance or 'Refresh' visits in the future. Please enquire about future 'refresh' procedures at half price*.

Appointment Booking Terms and Conditions:

We wish to draw your attention to the important details below relating to our appointment booking terms and conditions and cancellation policy. We kindly request that you read this information carefully. This policy is also provided in writing, generally by email, on all appointment booking confirmations and price lists.

Please be advised that when you request and book any appointment with Skinmedics Clinic you are agreeing to accept the following terms and conditions.

A non-refundable deposit of $110.00 (inc 10% GST) is required per treatment area at the time of booking to secure and confirm your appointment time. This is generally transacted by providing us with a valid credit card number.

The full deposit amount is then deducted from the total final costs owing on the day of your treatment/s on the day that the original booking was made for.

If you choose to contact Skinmedics to request a change to your confirmed appointment or to cancel your appointment we absolutely require a minimum of 48 hours notice. If MORE than 48hours notice is given we will hold your deposit on file for up to 12 months from the date the deposit was paid for the purposes of securing a second appointment date within that period. If LESS than 48hours notice is given to change or cancel a booking, or if you choose to not show up to your appointment altogether, you will forfeit your entire deposit/s and if necessary we reserve the right to charge 100% of the remaining treatment cost to your credit card to compensate for the loss of business and for administration costs.

Please note: All deposits made are strictly non-refundable. Skinmedics Clinic does not offer refunds under any circumstances, and we do not exchange any deposit payments made for any other services or products within the clinic other than Cosmetic Tattooing with Janesse Taylor-Saar.

Regrettably we have been forced to establish the above policy due to a significant number of past bookings by people who have made either an unauthentic appointment, cancelled at very short notice or have just not shown up. Unfortunately this precedent has been disruptive to the running of the business, inconsiderate to the financial needs of our practitioners and, most importantly, inconvenienced our highly valued and respectable clients.

Thank you for taking the time to read the above policy and for your understanding and acceptance.
